At Faith Fighters we hold to the Westminster Confession and to the Three Forms of Unity (Canons of Dort, Heidelberg Catechism, and Belgic Confession)

At Faith Fighters we hold to the 5 Solas

“Sola scriptura is the belief that because Scripture is God’s inspired Word, it is the only inerrant, sufficient, and final authority for the church. Solus Christus is the assertion that Christ alone is the basis on which the ungodly are justified in God’s sight. Sola fide maintains that the believer receives the redemption Christ has accomplished only through faith. Sola gratia proclaims that all of our salvation, from beginning to end, is by grace and grace alone. Because of these things, the Reformers held fast to the phrase soli Deo gloria, that only God receives glory for our salvation.”

     The Trinity

“In the unity of the Godhead there be three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.” - Westminster Confession

Who is God? God is the Creator of the Universe. (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1) He is one eternal being (Deuteronomy 6:4) existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14) Each being fully God in divinity, but distinct in person and roles.

Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ--who is fully God, and fully man--came to earth, born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23) and lived a perfect sinless life, in order to be the atoning sacrifice for our sin. (Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21) Three days later, Jesus Christ conquered the grave and rose victoriously. (Luke 24:6-7) He then ascended to the Father where He is currently sitting at the right hand of God and interceding for us in heaven. (Romans 8:34)

   Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14) and is the One whom Christ has sent as our Helper and Advocate (John 16:7, Matthew 28:20) and the One who enables believers and gives them the ability to testify about God and obey Him (Acts 1:8, Philippians 2:13)

   What is The Gospel?

What is Sin?

Sin is being disobedient to a Holy God. Man had rebelled against God and sinned against Him (Genesis 3) and as a result of man’s disobedience, all of humanity is born with a sinful nature, and are unrighteous before God. (Romans 3:10,23)

What are the Consequences of Sin?

Because of our sin, it leads to death and destruction here on earth, and in eternal damnation apart from Christ.  (Romans 6:23, John 10:10)

What was done about Sin?

Since God is a Just God, He must punish the evil of sin. There cannot be forgiveness of sin without the shedding of blood. (Hebrews 9:22) Therefore, in God’s rich and great mercy, and deep love for those created in His Image (Genesis 1:26-27) while we were still sinners God sent His own Son Jesus, to be the sin sacrifice in order to punish the evil of sin, but save His chosen people. (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 1:7) This is the only possible way to be saved. (John 14:6)

How to Be Saved?

Belief and repentance. (John 3:16, Mark 1:15, Romans 10:9-10) Through faith and belief in the person, divinity and saving work of Jesus Christ, and lived out continual repentance from the sinful ways that Christ came to die for and free you from (Galatians 5:1, John 8:36, Luke 15:20). This work of salvation is done by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not by our own self-righteous works--just the gracious work of Christ.  (Ephesians 2:8-10)

     The Great Commission/Return of Christ

Because Christ is returning again to establish His throne and bring judgment by separating those who believed in Him from those who did not (Matthew 25:31-46). We live with a sense of urgency for every ear to hear and believe the message of the Gospel (Matthew 24:14). This is done by the fulfillment of the Great Commission of making disciples. True followers of Jesus are called to live sacrificially (Luke 9:23-24) and to share this Good News of salvation with others through discipleship lead others to knowing Christ and living like Him. (Acts 1:8, Romans 10:13-15, Matthew 28:18-20)

What is the Church?

The Church of Jesus Christ that Jesus bled and died for; the Church that Jesus says the gates of hell will never prevail against is not a building, but it is the people of God. The church is the called out ones-the called out assembly of God’s people. The Church is the body and bride of Christ!

The Church is both local and universal.

The functions of the Church?

The primary function of the Church is to corporately worship God Almighty. The second function of the Church is to be the vehicle, in which God has ordained, to transport the message of His glorious Gospel as His “hands and feet.” The third function of the Church is to be a community of believers where we grow together in the Lord and are sanctified together in Jesus Christ.

  Sacraments

When we gather in a corporate Church service we take communion which was a practice instituted by Jesus to His disciples on Passover that represents Christ’s body that was broken for us and His blood that was shed for forgiveness of our sins. We too take bread and wine in remembrance and comfort of Jesus’s accomplished saving work for us. (Matthew 26:26-28)

In addition we also practice water baptism that is a public proclamation and covenant sign of the inward work that God has done in our life. It shows that we have died with Christ, but have also resurrected with Him (Galatians 2:20, Romans 6:3-4). Christ commands His followers to do both of these things.

Church Governance

At Faith Fighters we hold to a Presbyterian model of Church governance, with a plurality of elders.

In any matter of church discipline Faith Fighters submits to the Bible as our ultimate authority in all matters concerning life and godliness. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 18:15-20)

Biblical View of Sex and Marriage

God created mankind in His image, male and female He created them. Sex is designed by God and made only for the context of one man and one woman in the covenant of marriage. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:27, Matthew 19:5-6)

  Vision of Faith Fighters Church

We are a missionally minded church committed to the fulfillment of the Great Commission! (Matthew 28:18-20)

We are a Church without walls; we are a Church on the move.

We are committed to bringing Church to those who would never step foot in a church building.

We are committed to pushing back the Kingdom of Darkness and bringing the Kingdom of Light to the dark places. We reach out to communities of the unseen, underserved, and marginalized.

By not staying in the comfort of the pews, we go from the “seats to the streets” (Acts 2) as Christ’s witnesses and ambassadors (Acts 1:8, 2 Cor. 5:18,20) to share the Gospel with the lost. (Romans 10:14-15)

We bring them into the fold and community of a disciple-making local church, which goes and plants other churches who make disciples! (2 Timothy 2:2,22)

We lower the bar of how we do church (“less about the bells and whistles or the Sunday experience”) and raise the bar on how we make disciples of Jesus who have counted the cost of biblical discipleship and who are actively following Jesus!
